The Land: Large Landscapes

Opening Reception: Saturday, July 13, 6-8 pm.

On view through August 3, 2019.

Abend Gallery is proud to announce the upcoming opening of “The Land”—a group exhibition of landscape painters featuring the work of Daliah Ammar, Stephanie Buer, Todd Carpenter, Lorenzo Chavez, Adam Hall, Jane Hunt, Natasha Isenhour, Deb Komitor, Trey McCarley, Sandra Pratt, Rob Rey, Dave Santillanes, Hiroshi Sato, Cindy Shih, Brian Sostrom, and Seth Winegar.

Visitors to the exhibit will experience an adventurous excursion through a number of natural habitats, exploring the land and its natural beauty, guided by an artist’s brush and palette. The land grounds us, provides us with shelter, food, inspiration and all the natural resources vital for life itself. The artists in this group exhibition will meditate on various roles the land plays in our well-being, physical and spiritual.

The exhibit will comprise numerous large-scale paintings—one or several from each artist. From the mystical majesty of forests by Deb Komitor, abstracted aerial land views by Hiroshi Sato, to the magnificence of Rob Rey’s mountainscapes, and everything in between—the breadth and variety of approaches by each artist is spectacular to take in. The delight of the journey will entice to follow you home.
