Many years have passed since Stephen Day had his first one-person show at Abend Gallery on Oct. 2, 1992. Many things have changed in our world since then. That show in 1992 showcased summer landscape paintings from the West and Southwest. The painting on the invitation was a scene from Rocky Mountain National Park of Sunlit Boulders. This virtual show will also feature paintings from the West and Southwest. After all these years, the West and Southwest landscapes still inspire the artist. The mountains, the wide-open spaces, the vast skies, and more intimate scenes remain his focus.
His work is included in the following books:
Art of the National Parks – Historic Connections – Contemporary Interpretations
Art Journey – New Mexico – 104 Painters Perspectives
Landscapes of New Mexico. Paintings of the Land of Enchantment
Landscapes of Colorado. Mountains and Plains
