Richard T Scott (b. 1980) is a contemporary history painter living and working in the Hudson Valley, NY. His portraits, interiors, and large scale compositions have exhibited across North America and Europe: Le Grand Palais in Paris, Palazzo Cini in Venice, Museu Europeu d'Art Modern in Barcelona, the Museum of New Art in Detroit, the National Arts Club in New York City, and are preserved in permanent collections worldwide such as the The New Britain Museum of American Art, the Georgia Museum of Art, MEAM, MACS, former British Arts Minister Alan Howarth of Newport, and Robert C. Kennedy PhD. Among many honors he has recieved, Richard has been selected as an Associate Living Master by the Art Renewal Center, and has designed coins and medals for the United States Mint, including the Fort Moultrie quarter, presently in circulation, and was honored as an Associate Living Master by the Art Renewal Center.
After earning an MFA from the New York Academy of Art, Richard worked as a painter for Jeff Koons, and subsequently apprenticed for three years to Odd Nerdrum in Norway and Paris.
Richard has given lectures and workshops at some of the most prestigious institutions, including the Tyler School of Art, The Florence Academy of Art, The University of Georgia, The Lyme Academy, Laguna College of Art and Design, and the Wethersfield Academy for the Arts.
His interviews, writing, and art have been feature on NPR, PRI, American Art Collector, Fine Art Connoisseur, and countless national and international publications.
