Aleksey and Olga Ivanov: Meticulous Egg-tempera Technique
Aleksey and Olga Ivanov are Russian natives who have made the United States their home. The couple met as students at the Moscow Art Institute who have collaborated ever since. The Ivanov’s favorite medium is egg tempera, which has a long and noble history. Egg-tempera was used universally by the masters until the fifteenth century. The Ivanov’s meticulous egg-tempera technique and luminous results warrant special attention.
The Ivanov’s have illustrated over 70 books here and abroad focusing primarily on Children’s books. Private art collections include collectors from Great Britain, Germany, France Italy, Japan and the United States.
