During February at Abend Gallery, local artists convey their passion, manifesting the intangible force into artistic form. February, the historical month of expression and atonement, is the perfect time for artists to purge their souls and translate their subjective passions - whether the subjects are landscape, figural, or non-representational expressions - into visual form.

"Hey Diddle Diddle"
July 14 - Aug 1 -- Opening Reception: Friday ,July 14,, 5-9pm

Mother Goose has never looked this good. In a unique opening at Abend Gallery, artists Aleksey & Olga Ivanov will be displaying original artwork from their recently published children’s books, “The Tall Book of Mother Goose” and “The Tall Book of Nursery Tales.” Each illustration from the books originates from a miniature watercolor painting, which will be exhibited in late July. These illustrations can be purchased as a treasured decoration for a child’s room or a collectible item based upon English children's culture.

In addition, sculptor JoLea Arcidiacono will offer her reinterpretations of these traditional fairy tales through her offbeat sense of humor. Her ceramic sculptures will provide viewers with a quirky divergence from the conventional.

The artists will be on hand to sign books at the opening exhibition. The books sell for $6.99 each and will be available for purchase at the event
